In need of insurance and life lessons

I've been terribly ill for a week now. I've had a fever ranging from 99° to 104°, nasty body aches, congestion... The works, basically. I can only assume it's the flu, because I can't afford to see a doctor here in New York. My insurance card only makes a difference while I'm "in network," and that network is 600 miles away. It didn't even help me much when I was in that network. But regardless, it'd be nice to have some health insurance soon, because I can't keep getting sick like this and yet be forced to say, "No, I can't go to the hospital even though my brain is being cooked by the fever, I can't afford it."

By the end of the week we'll finally have a dining room table, purchased from a nice couple down the hall. They're moving out, so we scored the table and four chairs for $30. At this point there's really no need for a 7-piece set anyway, and god, $30 is a real steal. I'm actually glad I didn't win the bigger set I was bidding for on Ebay, because that would've been an additional $70+ and we would've had to borrow a truck to get it.

I've been given several reasons lately to find myself thinking, "When God closes a door, he opens a window." And in some cases, the window is bigger and nicer than the door that just closed. I think the universe is trying to teach me that just because I can't get exactly what I (thought I) wanted doesn't mean it's the end of the world.
